Pillars of light and Tacos

Last night was amazing. When Diana and I returned to her apartment, after eating at a nearby kebab restaurant, we noticed that the city turned the "Towers of Light" back on. The "Towers of Light" are the immense columns of light that shine into the sky from the site of the former world trade center towers. It was an amazing and I took pictures. Unfortunately I am at a Barnes n' Noble right now and I'm unable to upload the pictures. I will try and get them uploaded later this evening.

WUXX

This past Saturday Jenson invited me to a Wuxx event in Edmonds,Washington. I am really unsure to as what the heck Wuxx is BUT it was a neat event. We played Whirlyball, which is a combination of basketball, hockey, Jai-Alai and bumper cars. Each player is equipment with a bumper car and a scoop. The objective is to scoop up the ball and throw it into your own goal. The fun, of course, is in the bumper cars. You will never know how much joy you can get out of crashing into your opponent and giving them whiplash until you actually do it. And let me tell you, I have done it; over and over again.

Before going to play Whirlyball I met Jenson at his dear Aunt Sally?s house. No really that?s her name, Sally and she is Jenson?s aunt therefore she is his dear Aunt Sally. His Aunt and Uncle were having a family and friend golf tournament in Lacey, Washington and I showed up just in time to miss the golf tournament but just in time for the after-golf dinner and desert. Oh man his dear Aunt Sally can cook. Mmmmmm? mmmmmmm.... so good.

After Dinner we headed up to Whirlyball and played until midnight then headed to a new bar (?The Apartment?) in Bell Town Seattle. We left the bar around 2 am or so and stayed the night at Jenson?s parents house somewhere in Seattle. Jenson and I carpooled to Edmonds from Olympia so on Sunday we drove back to his Aunt Sally?s house where Jenson had left his car. It would have been rude of us to not stay for dinner at dear Aunt Sally?s house so we did. It was another great meal.

Now I do have a point in writing all of this especially in telling you about Jenson?s dear Aunt Sally. Jenson will show up missing one day and his dear Aunt Sally will be so grief stricken that she will want to adopt a new nephew. BAMM! I will right there to help her through her grief and eat her food. That is how nice I am.

Last Night...

Last night, against my will and unwilling persuaded by Jenson, I went to a party at Laurie's house. I must admit that it was a good way to get my mind off of my studies for a bit and that I did have a good time. Laurie and her roommate (Avie, sp?) like to have "theme" parties instead of the normal run of the mill "everyone come and drink" parties. Last night's theme was "Lie to Everyone", which meant that everyone had to be someone other than themselves; i.e. your friend, a neighbour, a celebrity, etc. I decided to lie to everyone and be a catholic priest (notice the white collar). In reality it was just a way for me to wear my cool red lounge jacket (it's dang cool, ain't it).

We arrived at the party around 10pm and left around 2am.

I think that fours hours removed from my homework is decent and didn't set me back that much. In reality I am making up for it today but I still feel that it was worth it, I can live with the consequences of my actions*. Jenson, however, may not be so happy about the consequences. That boy drank so much that he has to be hurting today. Admittedly I did have a few drinks myself but I have never been a big drinker so I was nowhere near the spin zone. Jenson on the other hand was riding the circus cups all night.

Overall the party was a good time. I got to meet several really cool people and I married about 4 or 5 couples throughout the night (remember I was a catholic priest). The breakdown was 3 standard male-female relationships, 1 male-female-female relationship and a same sex marriage (we relocated to San Francisco for that one).

Now I must get back to my homework. I have a huge auditing research paper coming due, a second midterm on tuesday, several chapters of homework due in econometrics and a few group projects. All are due this week. If you don't hear my sweet sweet voice for a few days now you know why, I'm going to be a busy busy man this week.

*by consequences, I mean the consequences of neglecting my homework not of any "bad" actions.
