bad luck

Ok, what's the deal with me lately? Honestly, in the past few months I have had a streak of bad luck. For those of you that don't know, here's a quick list.

  • My bicycle was stolen.
  • The city of Portland towed my car that was stuck in a mound of snow. They also fined me for hazardous parking. Um, hello I wasn't parking I got stuck in?a pile of snow. I had to pay for the tow and the ticket.
  • Thieves smashed my car window, windshield and ripped apart my dash just to steal my car stereo.
  • I was denied an interview for the JET program.

As if that wasn't enough today my car's check engine light came on and one of my front tires popped. I don't have the time tomorrow to deal with getting my tire fixed, which is just fine because I rarely drive my car. The tire should be covered under warranty as it is most likely a small hole; a nail, screw or something like that.

I want to let everyone know right now I am really tired of dealing with the intricacies of life, I just want to go from day to day without any crazy drama. Eventually, I am sure, that this will happen it just isn't happening right now nor does it seem like it will happen anytime soon.

In other news my schoolwork is piling up. I have some very serious second thoughts about enrolling in?a masters of financial analysis program with only an accounting undergraduate. The financial concepts that we are covering in my classes are fairly complex and I do not feel as though I am learning as much as I could have learned had I had an undergrad in finance and/or several years of real-world experience. I am also deeply buried?in my advanced auditing course. For whatever reason I have not been able to grasp the concepts that we are covering, although I was able to make a really neat spreadsheet (check a previous blog).

Lastly, I want to let you all know that I went riding today up at Mt. Hood Meadows.? Temperatures were in the 40s, sunny skies, no clouds and some very nice loose corn snow. It was a great spring snow day and then I came home to a check engine light and a popped tire. Wonderful.
