madrid

Madrid is a pretty neat place and completely different than Salamanca. Honestly I prefer Salamanca. Salamanca is much better but the historical sites here in Madrid are quite a bit better as are the museums. The four of us went out yesterday and walked around town. During the day we went to the Museo del Prado and walked through a few of the gardens to see many of the statues they have around town.

During the evening we hung out in Plaza Mayor, drank a bit and met a very nice bum whom we called bum #1, good times. We then attempted to check out the night life in Madrid but unfortunately it sucks or we just didn?t know where to go. There were a TON of people out and about, the clubs were packed as were the bars but nothing was really jumping. We asked person after person where the good clubs/bars were and we must have hopped from group to group meeting new people every 20 or 30 minutes for hours into the night. Eventually we gave up around 4 or 5 in the morning and called it a night. We were all a bit disappointed.

Today I head off for Paris later in the evening (7pm). Sander and I are first going to check out a few more Museums, sites around town and, of course, the aftermath of the bombings which we were told you can still see. By the way my train leaves from the same station where the bombings were supposed to take place, isn?t that fun!! Alrighty I?m outta here, see ya all in a few days.
