The story behind this house is amazing. Originally bought and paid for by Diana's entrepreneurial great-grandparents it was taken over by the Communists during China's cultural revolution. Since that time the family has moved to various parts of the world and are slowly trickling back to their home country. The house sat vacant for decades and it took until the late 1980s for the house to be given back to its original owners.
The house was built in the traditional style of time including the fact that the bricks are held together with glutinous rice and brown sugar. The house is still standing and solid and will be for decades to come. It is an amazing house.
What a nice tour of the old family home. There was much thought into how the home was built, the painting, the tiles..was a shame to have it in such disrepair..I bet no one would have thought that Diana would be able to see it!You should have taken more time to get her in the picture of the family home, the garden looked pretty good..many memories are in that home..
Very Amazing, the detail lovely, the flooring tile really pretty, a lot of thought was placed in the making of that home..I am sure it brings back so many memories
nice tour, next time show your lovely Diana, after all her standing on the porch of the grandparents home was probably a far away dream that she would ever be able to see it no dream of living there I am sure. lots of history in an old house...
